That is why alchemy is recommended for all character classes. Warriors need healing and buff potions. Spell casting classes need mana potions and their buff potions. Especially in large groups or guilds a good alchemist is essential and very quickly becomes someone's best friend.
Since it is very difficult to create potions without herbs the best profession to complement alchemy is the gathering profession Herbalism. The part time job Fishing can also be useful since there are a few recipes with ingredients only fishers can get.

Ampullaes can be found at any general dealer or traders for alchemy products. The recipes you find through alchemy trainers, rivals, chests, bargainers or certain quests.
