You wanna stir up some trouble with your warlock in World of Warcraft? Not a bad choice – Warlocks are a very damage intensive class, dealing a lot of magic ranged damage. Have your warlock summon demons to keep your opponents at bay while you prepare powerful curses or fire and shadow magic. With his valuable pets, the warlock can keep enemy magic at bay (Felhunter) or increase the stamina of the whole party / raid party (imp).
One of the things that make a warlock so interesting is his ability to convert his stamina into mana (profiting twice from his stamina) and create Healthstones (work just like a health potion). Some gamers consider his dependence on Soul Shards (which are not always easy to obtain) for certain spells a disadvantage. Undisputed, however, is the warlock’s reputation is a master of “Damage over Time” spells (DoT) and an inspirer of fear and terror.
Specialize your warlock
Affliction: In this tree, you’ll be improving your mighty DoTs, especially your main damage sources, Corruption and Curse of Agony. Fortification of your fear and Soul Siphon abilities also take place in this tree. What about an extra ability to siphon mana from your summoned pet? Learn “Haunt”: Besides a hefty amount of spontaneous shadow damage, this spell strengthens the effects of all DoTs currently afflicting the target. As soon as the “Haunt” is over, the damage that was dealt is converted into healing power that is siphoned directly back to the warlock. Become a DoT master and strike your enemies with terrifying affliction!
Demonology: You can improve your pets here! Whether Voidwalker (Tank), Succubus (crowd control), Imp (auras), Doomguard (damage), or Felhunter (mage slayer) – all pets will profit from points spent in the demonology tree. As the crowning ability, you can transform into a demon yourself, making you extremely tough and granting you special abilities.
Destruction: Damage. Now. This tree is ideal for the impatient gamer: You’ll substantially improve all the spells that deal with immediate damage. You’ll also acquire new exclusive spells, like “Conflagrate” and “Shadowfury”. Shadow Bolt (your primary damage source) will profit greatly from this tree. Moreover, you can increase the range of all your destructive spells. Last, but not at all least, you’ll get the ability “Chaos Bolt”, which deals enormous damage that can’t be resisted and pierces through all absorption effects: Resistance is futile!
