Whether TERA Rising Gold, your (CD) Key for TERA, Power Leveling, or (if it makes sense, we’ll do it!) TERA Crystals and TERA Items: As soon as the hot, long-awaited game is released in Europe, we’ll be the first ones to offer reliable and professional services from selected gold farmers and power levelers. Why do we bother? Because even “TERA: The Exiled Realm of Arbora” suffers from the old MMORPG sickness: A game design that believes it necessary to rob its gamers of precious gaming time for senseless grinding and farming. Those of you who cannot (or refuse to) afford to have your time wasted, will receive high quality TERA Gold and TERA Leveling for best value. And what does “high quality” mean? Great delivery speed and highest security for your account, naturally! You can expect this from us.
What can be expected of “TERA: The exiled Realm of Arbora”? And when is it coming?
The open beta will start early 2012. The alpha test should be sometime this year. TERA is the inofficial successor of Lineage 2 – after all, the previous developers of Lineage 3 that went independent with Bluehole are behind the game design. Since there has been no talk of the official game “Lineage 3”, we can inofficially claim that “TERA online = Lineage 3,” more or less. Frogster is the publisher in Europe.
The mix of races and the appearance of the creatures in TERA online is a tantalizing crossbreed of Final Fantasy XIV and Aion. The classes will have some minor unspectacular variations on the warriormagepriestthief monotony and otherwise we have our usual stuff: complete quests, slaughter monsters, level up, and show off the new items you find. That doesn’t, however, necessarily mean that the game isn’t fun! ;-)
While the gaming concept doesn’t really rock anyone’s world, the spectacular graphics promise to knock off quite a few socks: For visual delights (including navel-free manga erotic: garter belts revealing long legs and breasts, decorated with tiny armor parts) an Unreal Engine 3 is expected to deliver. It’s clear that they’re showing off, it isn’t for nothing that TERA is the second most expensive MMORPG in existence regarding development costs (after Rift and before WoW): twice as expensive as Aion! Does that give us hope that this game will survive the test of time?
Regarding controls, TERA will offer something that even the hardened MMOG veterans will drool over: A revolutionary action battle system, which will even allow the use of a Gamepad! Real aiming, quick reaction dodging and gaming skill instead of mere Stats arms races. So is this a hybrid of a classic and action MMO? That sounds a bit like “Aion meets Diablo!”
TERA: The Exiled Realm of Arborea – Our First Look
Melee Damage Classes are usually less exciting than Ranged Damage Classes or Mages regarding tactical employment and game dynamics. This could change dramatically in TERA online. 4 of the 8 selectable classes are very different types of melee specialists (Berserker, Lancer, Slayer and the rogue-like warrior). In addition, we have 3 magical classes (mystic, priest, and sorcerer), and only one pure ranged damage class (archer).
Regarding the seven races (Amani lizards, Baraka giants, Castanic emos, the catwalk beauties that are Humans and High Elves, Popori pandas, and the Elin girls-with-rabbit-ears) there is little to speak of as of yet. Whether the asian-styled race design will appeal to us in the west is yet to be seen. The story will be similarly generic, those of you looking for a story-centered game, will not be a fan of TERA: The advantages of TERA will be the graphics and controls.
So let’s come back to the character control. It’s not enough to simply click a skill icon and watch your character automatically attack. Instead, 100% action is required: with the WSAD keys, you can jump across the battlefield, with your mouse cursor you can aim at your target with crosshairs and attack or use a spell. There is no such thing as “target lock”! Your ability to react fast will be put to the test! There are innumerable ways to deflect, block, or dodge enemy attacks. That means a group of adventurers without healers or tanks (lancers) may also succeed in their endeavors!
Since even the monsters can dodge in battle and accommodate their behavior to human opponents, a sort of PvP type of feel will be given to the player even in PvE gaming. PvP will also be a part of the game, but possible only for higher levels.
What else? The controls aren’t just good in battle. You’ll also get a jump and run feeling when you explore the graphically overwhelming world: You jump over graves, climb stone walls, or swim through rivers.
TERA won’t be implementing the factions concept. You can also dynamically choose whose side you’re on. The gaming world is relatively huge. One thing is sure, there will be plenty to discover!
