Star Wars: The Old Republic will be a gigantic gaming success, we’re willing to bet on that.  Why?  Because a new, successful, and enthralling SciFi MMO is long overdue (Star Trek Online’s time in the spotlight was unfortunately short-lived), because the Star Wars universe is more than well-suited for a diverse and story-based gaming world, and also because everything we’re seeing from SWTOR now looks pretty damn good.

One thing is clear: Delivering the right mix of successful MMO gaming elements (tried and true elements from WoW & Co.) and intricate innovations is an art all its own.  The producers of SWTOR, Bioware and associate producers LucasArts, who were already very successful with “Knights of the Old Republic” may, however, possess the recipe for a fantastically successful MMORPG.  And yes, let’s not beat around the bush here: SWTOR will be THE WoW killer!  Maybe.
