Guild Wars is a Competitive Online Role Playing Game (CORPG) free of charge.  With over 7 million copies sold, Guild Wars is one of the most sought-after online games.  The focus of the game is on the high tempo PvP (player vs. player) mode and a brilliant tactical GvG (guild vs. guild) game.  In the meanwhile, however, Guild Wars additionally offers a full-fledged and creative PvE (player vs. environment).  The perennial hit from the house of NCSoft is thus in the same league as WoW, Aion, and Co.  A noteworthy difference: Guild Wars does not require any subscription fees!

So you’re out embarking on quests, hunting monsters, taking part in guild battles, gathering valuable experience, skills, items (weapons, crafting materials, runes) and of course sacks of Guild Wars-Platinum.  You decide whether you play alone or with other gamers or with computer-controlled minions (NPCs).  You can contact other gamers in the cities.  The cities are the places to go to form groups, trade, or look for new members for a guild.

The weapons and skills system is also first class.  Imagine your very own weapons, which you individually upgrade with special bonuses.  Your upgraded weapons and skills need to be activated however through successes in PvE or PvP.  Create your own PvP characters that start out at level 20 and have full access to all upgrades, bonuses, and skills.  Moreover, you’ll have the opportunity to equip your NPCs with weapons and skills to form your own little “hero army.”
